WWII Re-enactment
July 7, 2018

Perry Street Station will become a WWII encampment for both forces with displays of uniforms,
weapons and vehicles from the era. The station will be open from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday,
so come early to allow plenty of time to view the encampment and exhibits before train leaves.

The train will become a re-enactment of the Battle of the Ruhr Pocket. The Ruhr Pocket was a battle
of encirclement that took place near the end of WWII. It marked the end of major organized resistance
on Nazi Germany's Western Front as more than 300,000 troops were taken prisoner.

The train ride and accompanying battle portrays the final German military train trying to escape into Germany with a special cargo including stolen paintings and portraits. The Battlebabies of the
99th Infantry Division have been told of possible American prisoners of war onboard. Many were
captured days before in heavy fighting in an effort to close the Ruhr Pocket. Allied forces will be
keeping an eye on the train with the intent of overtaking it. Are spies on-board?
A battle will ensue at Rynd Farm Station.
Hosted by the 99th Infantry Division Historical Society Inc from Erie, PA.
