The Speeders Are Coming...Saturday, August 9, is Speeder Day.Enjoy the thrill of riding a real motorized railcar. Railcars, or speeders as railroaders named them, are those little yellow or orange boxes with a putt-putt sound that you used to see on the railroad lines during the fifties and sixties. They transported the men and materials needed to repair the railroad tracks before the advent of the "hy-rail" truck. Come join in the fun!
Noon
until 4:00 PM: 9:00 AM
and 6:30 PM Rides: Riders will be accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis. General Speeder Info: Our speeder group runs occasionally during the year. To earn the chance to operate on the OC&T, they do maintenance during their runs. If you have a speeder, or know
someone who does, email Jim Morvay, our speeder
coordinator, for more information.
